Legal Notice is hereby given that on January 13, 2025, a Petition was filed in the County Court of Douglas County, Nebraska, the object, and prayer of which is the adoption of the minor child by the name Janessa I. Flores, and to change the minor child's name to Janessa Izabella Alvarado Flores. The case number is AD 25-11, In the Matter of the Adoption of Janessa I. Flores, minor child. Pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 43-104.14, Petitioner, Esmeralda M. Alvarado, provides the following notice:
1. The first name or initials of the father or possible father or the entry John Doe, real name unknown if applicable: David Flores, Jr.
2. The approximate date of conception of the child and the city and state in which conception occurred: Mid-end of May, 2018, in Galveston, Texas.
3. Date of birth of the child: January 25, 2018.
4. David Flores, Jr., you have been identified as the biological father or possible biological father. A hearing will be had on said petition and the issue of abandonment before the Honorable Philip Kleine, in Douglas County Court, Courtroom No. 330, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, on the 29th day of May, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as will be convenient for the Court and that unless sufficient cause is shown to the contrary, the adoption of the minor child will occur and her name will be changed from Janessa Izabella Flores to Janessa Izabella Alvarado Flores.
5. David Flores, Jr., you have the right to (i) deny paternity, (ii) waive any parental rights you may have, (iii) relinquish and consent to adoption of the child, (iv) file a Notice of Objection to Adoption and Intent to Obtain Custody pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 43-104.02, or (v) object to the adoption in a proceeding before any Nebraska court which has adjudicated you to be the biological father of the child prior to your receipt of notice.
6. In order to deny paternity, waive your parental rights, relinquish and consent to the adoption, or receive additional information to determine whether you are the father of the child in question, you must contact the undersigned agency or attorney representing the biological aunt and, if you wish to object to the adoption and seek custody of the child, you must seek legal counsel from your own attorney immediately.
