Age 84, of Hampton Township, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, while under the care of the St. Barnabas Health System. Daughter of the late William and Ellen Eichenlaub; sister of Loretta Skirtich and beloved wife of 54-years to the late Edward F. McKaveney, she is survived by children, Theresa, Christina (Brian) Malkin, William (Melissa) and Edward (Amy). She was great-grandmother of Amyra; grandmother of Savannah, Austin, Amber, Dallas, Virginia, Sabrina, Noelle and Maria; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mary was a graduate of St. Raphael's High School in Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, and earned a Masters of Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1960. A lover of the arts and nature, Mary was a long-time teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools before moving into elder care social work with the Lutheran Service Society of Western Pennsylvania. Mary's family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at KING FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2510 Middle Road in Glenshaw with Father John W. Skirtich officiating. She will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery of St. Mary in Glenshaw following Mass. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Mary's family at:
