JAMES C. ROSS
Jim Ross of Banksville recently celebrated his 100th Birthday! A surprise birthday party was held at Al's Café in Bethel Park, on Sunday, November 19, 2017, hosted by his son and daughter, Gary and Suzan. Among the attendees were Jim's three grandsons, Jason, Derek and Cory Ross, as well as relatives, friends and neighbors. Jim was born on November 27, 1917 in Pittsburgh, PA, and is the son of Clyde E. Ross and Margaret Gowton. Jim and Mary Windstein were married on August 16, 1941. They were married nearly 73 years before Mary passed away in 2013 at the age of 91.
Jim and Mary first joined Dormont Presbyterian Church in 1950 and remained very involved in the Church until its closure in 2013. Jim is now the oldest member in attendance at the Unity Presbyterian Church (formerly Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church) in Green Tree.
Jim, a very proud WWII Veteran (The United States Army Air Forces), actively attends monthly meetings of the Veterans Breakfast Club. To this day, he remains very involved in the Dormont AARP Chapter #3016, (which Chapter he co-founded many years ago).
100th Birthday Congratulations, Dad! Thank you for a lifetime of your love.
We love you very much! Gary, Sue, and Maggie
