Dan, age 68, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Twp., died suddenly on Thursday, September 7, 2017, in his home. He was born June 11, 1949, in Virginia, a son of Constance Reynolds Martin of McDonald and the late Robert Eli Sunderlin. Mr. Sunderlin was a retired medical systems analyst for Bayer Corp. and was a US Air Force veteran. He enjoyed motorcycles (especially the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Group) and the outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Susan Joan Sommer Sunderlin; children, Robert Joshua (Sara) Sunderlin of Bridgeville and Erin Elizabeth (James McDonald) Sunderlin of NC; grandchildren, Amelia Mae, Sadie Lee and Riley James Sunderlin and Addilyn McDonald. He is also survived by his mother, Constance Reynolds Martin of McDonald; brother, John Carson (Jean) Sunderlin of WV; and sister, Debby Lee (David) Radovich of Robinson Twp. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eli Sunderlin. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 6-8 p.m. in the THOMAS - LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE, INC., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800), where service will be held at 8 p.m. Interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
