Age 62, of Marshall Township, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved wife of 25 years to Scott Raymond; loving mother of Alec and Brandon. Also survived by five siblings. Rita lived her life to the fullest, enjoying her family, entertaining friends, cooking, traveling, and reading. Rita had a fulfilling career, beginning in nursing and psychology, continuing as a nursing professor at Duquesne University & CCAC and working the last 20 years as a Nurse Practitioner in Woman's Health, mostly for Lifestages at Allegheny General Hospital. She volunteered extensively, was a featured speaker at many professional events, participated on numerous boards, and was the consummate professional, respected and admired by her colleagues, patients, and students. A gathering of friends and family will be held September 15, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at the SPERLING FUNERAL HOME, 700 Blazier Drive, McCandless Twp, 15090. A celebration of Rita's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Northmont Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
