Age 89, of Penn Twp., formerly of Verona, died peacefully on August 31, 2017 at the William Penn Care Center in Penn Twp. He was born on January 10, 1928 in Pittsburgh. Bob was the son of the late Robert and Amy (Fowler) Metzger. He was a patriot and a proud veteran of both the Navy and Army. Prior to retirement he was a crane operator at Ingalls Iron Works in Verona where he served as union president. Preceding him were his beloved wife, Marian (Orr); and brothers, John, Joe, Tom, and David. He will be dearly missed by stepsons, Jim (Judy) Amorose and David Amorose; grandchildren, Emily (Fred) Priestley, Scott (Kara) Amorose and Alicia Cerney; sisters-in-law, Nancy Donald and Cindy Marx; brother-in- law, Richard Orr; six great- grandchildren; special niece, Tiffany Perriello; and many other nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to ALL staff members at William Penn Care Center (especially Virginia) for their loving care and to the Red Team at Heartland Hospice.
