Age 69, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018. He was born on January 23, 1949, to the late Conrad “Coke” and Sylvia Kolar, and raised in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. He graduated from West Mifflin High School in 1967 and attended a Technical Drafting School for two years. Following graduation of technical school, he was immediately drafted into the US Army. He served in the US Army infantry during the Vietnam Era where he received an Army Commendation Medal and the Purple Heart. He worked and lived most of his life in the Cape Coral, Florida area, including working for the United States Post Office. Larry was a quiet man who loved his family and enjoyed fishing as a pastime. He was most proud of his two daughters, Stephanie and Stacey, who both earned Doctorate Degrees from the University of South Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ricky Kolar and John Anthony Kolar. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Stacey Kolar and Stephanie Kolar; sister, Kathy (Kolar) Mihalco and husband, William of Harrison City, PA; sister-in-law, Nancy DuPre Kolar of Senoia, Georgia; brother, Mark Kolar and wife, Rose of West Mifflin, PA; brother, Robert Scott Kolar of West Mifflin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be conducted in Cape Coral, Florida.
