Nels Headland, 59 years old, of Cecil, died Friday, September 1, 2017, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born, October 21, 1957, in Pittsburgh, son of the late William "Billy" and Margaret "Jean" Grady Headland. He spent many summers in Ashtabula, OH. He was an Ice Hockey Official, and enjoyed dog and horse racing, spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, and had a passion for cigars and coffee. He was a friend of Dr. Bob's for many years. He worked as a Postal Carrier in Brookline and truck driver for US Postal Service. Surviving are his wife, Ann Buckley Headland, of Cecil; three daughters, Lauren (Gil) Curtin, Megan (Ronnie) Curtin, both of Cecil, and Alyssa (Nathan) Headland-McBee, of TX; seven grandchildren, Alexander, Olivia, Ciara, Sofia Andrew, Aubree, and Aleigha; two sisters, Mary (Ray) Crowley, and Kathy (Steve) Hitt, both of Pittsburgh, two brothers, John (Joanne) Headland, of AZ, and Billy (Kathy) Headland, of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the COLEMAN-TAYLOR FUNERAL SERVICES, 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt. 50), Cecil, PA, where services will be held at 8:00 p.m.
