IRA CLYDE, Jr.
Passed away peacefully at his home in Avalon, PA, on Monday, September 4, 2017. He was born on July 9, 1934, in Leetsdale, PA. He was a 1952 graduate of the Bellevue High School. He was a longtime employee of the Northgate School District and took great pride in making a positive difference in the School District and the entire community. He loved coaching football for the Avalon Steelers, where he won many championships. His proudest accomplishment and greatest joy in life were his wife, his six children; and 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was truly a family man, always attending his children's sporting events and travelling around the country to watch all their successes. Left to honor him are his beloved wife of 63 years, Charlene Haslett; his six children, James (Beth), Robert, David (Mary), Jon (Kristen), Jerry (Sherry), and Judy Haley (Tom); 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 12-8 p.m. at the McDONALD-LINN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, LLC, 529 California Ave., Avalon, PA 15202, where a Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Interment Allegheny County Memorial Park.
