Age 97, of Iowa City, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017 at Oaknoll Retirement Community. At a later date, services will be held in Pennsylvania. Private burial will take place in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Oaknoll Foundation or Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, PA. Elizabeth was born on July 15, 1920 in Dormont, PA, the daughter of Rev. Harry and Mary (Parker) Campbell. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. and The University of Pittsburgh with an M.A. in Education. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Dr. Roy Atherton Davis on December 21, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA; he preceded her in death on February 13, 1969. She was a Kindergarten teacher for Bethel Park Elementary, Pittsburgh for 17 years retiring in 1986. She attended St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, PA. Elizabeth was a deacon, choir member and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the South Hills College Club and Bethel Fife and Drum Chapter DAR Bethel Park. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Popovich of Pittsburgh, PA and her daughter Holly Popovich of Los Angeles, CA; son, Cam Davis (Cheryl) of Iowa City; and their children, Zach Davis of Iowa City and Erica Shelangoski (Casey) of Cedar Rapids; and many extended family. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; and siblings, Harry Campbell, Jr., Margaret Preston and Jean Peck. Online condolences may be left for the family at:
