On Thursday, August 31, 2017, age 87, of Pittsburgh and West Palm Beach, FL. Preceded in death by his cherished wife of 45 years, Mary Jane Conley; parents, John Eugene and Mildred (Marson) Conley; his brother, George Conley; and sister-in-law, Joan Conley. Loving father of Jill (Michael) Swick and John "Jack" P. (Angela) Conley, Jr.; grandfather of Juliet Swick and John P. Conley III; great-grandfather of Darren, John IV, and Scarlett Conley; brother of Joseph "Howard" Conley, Patrick Conley; and sister-in-law, Lorraine; longtime companion of his beloved partner of 20 years, Joan Burgunder; "Step-father" to Karen (Tim) Mulholland, Lisa (Kevin) Angle, Joe (Lee Ann) Burgunder, and the late Albert and Nancy Burgunder; "Step-grandfather and great-grandfather" to their children; also survived by many nieces and nephews. John served in the Navy during the Korean War. After his discharge, he became a golf professional. John was a prominent figure in the Tri-State and National PGA, including Tri-State PGA President, National Vice President, and serving on the rules committee at several Ryder Cup matches. He attended golf seminars at Oklahoma University and hosted a local golf program on TV. For 33 years, John was a Golf Professional at Shannopin Country Club in Ben Avon Heights. In 2004, he was inducted into the Tri-State PGA Hall of Fame.
