It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of James Joseph Bollas, of Elizabeth Township, who passed away February 8, 2018, suddenly and unexpectedly while vacationing with his wife of 56 years, Donna (Davis) Bollas. He laid down to take a nap on a beautiful tropical day and woke up in glorious Heaven. Jim was born January 30, 1940, to the late Matilda and James Bollas. Jim served in the U.S. Army for six years. He worked for 17 years at Continental Can before becoming Supervisor at General Motors / Fisher Body Plant for 32 years before retiring in 2005. Jim was an amazing husband, dad and pap. The memories that he made with his wife, children and grandchildren will stay forever in their hearts. Whether it was on vacation, at a sporting event, at dinner or just hanging out, Jim lived life to the fullest. His grandchildren were the joys of his life. He helped teach them to drive and he will forever be their angel whispering in their ear - five below- five below every time they get behind a wheel. Jim loved cruising the Caribbean, the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching the horse races, going to casinos and walking with his neighborhood buddies, but most importantly his family. In addition to his wife, Donna, he will be greatly missed by his children, Diane (George) Mazzaro and Brian Bollas; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Tyler, Sierra and Brittany; and great-grandson, Noah. He is also survived by his siblings, Bob Bollas, Richard (Carol) Bollas, Teresa Popajas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greeted in Heaven by his sisters, Mary Ukasik, Marilyn Lopretto, Carolyn Grimm and Norma Cross, along with his parents. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, 101 McLay Drive, Elizabeth, PA.
