BOROUGH OF SEWICKLEY
NOTICE OF CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION
FOR POSITION OF FULL TIME OFFICER

The purpose of the examination is to develop an eligibility listing for the position of Borough of Sewickley Police Officer. A successful candidate must be 21 years of age or older, in good physical condition, of good moral character, and must pass a physical agility test and must pass a written examination. Closing Date for Application: Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 5:00 p.m.

Applications must be submitted in person or by U.S. Mail to the Borough Manager's Office, 601 Thorn Street, Sewickley, PA 15143. An application fee of $75.00 must accompany the application.

Minimum Requirements:
A. Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED).
B. Be certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) and have a served a minimum of 2,500 hours as a certified police officer for a Pennsylvania Municipal Police Department.
C. Be a United States Citizen.
D. Be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a full-time police officer.
E. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license and be eligible to legally operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
F. Certified on the BAC Data Master 5000.

Testing Dates:
Physical Agility Test Date - Tuesday, December 12, 2017, Start Time: 0900 hours at Allegheny County Police Academy, 700 West Ridge Drive, (North Park), Allison Park, PA 15101

Written Exam Test Date - (For those who successfully pass the Physical Agility Test) Tuesday, December 12, 2017, Start Time 15 minutes after the Physical Agility Test at the Allegheny County Police Academy, 700 West Ridge Drive (North Park), Allison Park, PA 15101.
